Peek a boo

This guy was in the driveway when I was leaving for work. So cute. It is a yellow bellies slider.

So many lilies

I had planted some white day lilies this spring. They are thriving. It has been hard with how little rain we have had this spring. Having “flower” water from the duck pools has helped a lot.

Treetop Trek at Brevard Zoo

I did the intermediate level Treetop Trek at Brevard Zoo today. It was great. I have been wanting to do it for years but did not have any of my friends that wanted to go. I went with a wonderful group from New Hope Lutheran. It was a more challenging course than I expected from an “intermediate”. The best zip line was the Tall Boy, which has a height of 85 feet.

The line over the alligators was part of the course too. The log swing part was fun. It was a grand day. I am so blessed.

Best eggs ever!

I have never had poached eggs before. Mom never made them so I never tried them. I like soft boiled eggs, but shelling duck eggs is really difficult. Poached taste just like soft boiled but without the hassle of removing the shell. A wonderful breakfast.

In Memory of Chicken Bob

Chicken Bob was the chicken that got broody last year and hatched Chicklet. I got her from 4H when Kathy, an abandon chick, I adopted needed a friend. As a chick she let anyone pick her up and had no fear response. She was named after my cat Bob who was a little off because of epilepsy.

Feeding Chicken Bob

Chicken Bob was a lap chicken and would sit in your lap if you had treats. She died in her sleep and we buried her today. I will miss her.
